Marble is a natural stone and a type of metamorphic rock that forms when limestone is changed by heat and pressure deep, making it typically harder and giving it a smooth appearance. It is mainly composed of calcium carbonate and often contains veins and patterns caused by other minerals present during its formation. Marble is commonly used for internal applications, for walls, flooring, and tops. Typically supplied in a polished finish, but also available honed, sandblasted, and leathered finishes, as well as other special process finishes.
